FERRARI ESCAPE TEAM ORDERS PUNISHMENT

Ferrari have emerged unscathed after their hearing into team orders by the World Motorsport Council in Paris today. However, their fine of $100,000 that was awarded to the team shortly after the German GP was upheld.

2011 F1 CALENDAR RELEASED

The World Motorsport Council have finalised the 2011 F1 calendar. A race in India (subject to circuit homologation) will take place next October bringing the total number of Grands Prix to twenty.

Lotus are close to securing a Renault engine deal for 2011 providing they can extract themselves from a Cosworth contract that runs for the next two seasons. Lotus were powered by Renault engines from 1984-86.

TOMIZAWA KILLED IN MOTO2 CRASH

Japanese Moto2 rider Shoya Tomizawa has died following a high speed accident at Misano today that also involved Alex de Angelis and Scott Redding. Tomizawa was a rising star in the category taking victory in Qatar this season.

F1 SET TO RETURN TO GROUND EFFECT & TURBOS

All-new F1 technical regulations are likely to see the re-introduction of ground effects and turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engines in 2013. These were last seen in F1 during the 1980's but are being considered to boost the sports green credentials.
